2006-10-12 - Weekly Canyon Fishing Report - October 11, 2006
Just wanted to drop a quick one. We've run about 4 trips over the last week, getting them in here and there when we can. We've mostly been following the water south, starting just below the Carteret, and my guess is we'll be finishing up in the Poormans on Monday. The overnights continue to be pretty good. Had our best trip of the week last night, with 20 tuna by 2:00am, then came in. Day trips (trolling) had gotten a bit slow, although yesterday some guys did do well inside on the 40 fathom line again. We also had some good trolling bites yesterday evening before dark. The warm water areas are shrinking, which seems to be conentrating the tuna which is great (until it disappears completely). We've got 3 more trips left, then we are FL bound for warmer weather...be out fri/sat/sun weather permitting, give us a shout if you are out and about...
PS: WE FINALLY CATCH A LONGFIN! about time....
Tight Lines,
Trey
