Captain's Focus

2005-11-13 - OVER UNDER now fishing out of Morehead City
The OVER UNDER steamed south last weekend, and is now running trips out of Morehead City. On the trip down, the boat fished off of Oregon Inlet and Hatteras, spending the night offshore. There was a decent yellowfin bite on the troll, with 30-50# fish coming over the rails. Overnight, the sharks were too thick to really get the baits in the water for very long. In closer to Morehead the offshore bite is pretty good with a nice mix of Kings, Wahoo, Yellowfin, and a few Dolphin coming to the dock. Capt. Bob fished yesterday and had a wahoo, 5 kings, 3 false albacore, 3 blackfin tuna, and 1 yellowfin. The fish were all on the smaller side, but plenty of action throughout the day with plenty of other missed bites as well. On the Bluefin front, a couple fish here and there have come back to the dock, but the large body of fish has yet to show up. Yesterday we heard of one nice sized fish that was fought and eventually lost boatside. We'll be out there looking around this week to see if a few more fish have moved into the shoal. Over the next two weeks we expect the Bluefin to once again take up residence on the shoal, and provide plenty of action on 300-500# fish right through late January.
