2005-06-10 - Early June Report - Cat Island/Rum Cay Bahamas
The OVER UNDER has fished 5 of the last 6 days at Cat Island, some days fishing two boats. Big Dolphin continue to be around in good numbers. Yesterday we caught about 30, keeping a few and releasing most. The dolphin are mostly in the 25-35# range, with a few going close to 50#. A few yellowfin tuna have been caught on most days, some going 40#, but most in the 25-30# range. Blue Marlin are scarce right now at Cat. On Saturday last weekend, 2 fish were caught out of Hawks Nest, and since then, I don't think a boat has flown a BM flag. The Whites continue to show up. We released one Tuesday and have had a shot or two most days. Over in Rum, we continue to hear that the Blue Marlin bite is pretty decent. It's not red hot like it was a week or so ago, but continues to be consistent, with yellowfin around as well.
