fishing report

by Capt Ted White 21 July 2014
The last few days have been a mix of fishing and conditions. Friday we he had the Pete Watson family out for some fluke/bottom fishing. The weather was great, the drift was good, but the ground swell put a damper on the bite. Managed some keeper fluke, a few seabass and ling. Looks like the seabass may be on the spawn, which is a good thing.
Saturday day and Saturday afternoon we went trolling for ...small blues and bonito. The Bob Burrell and Dave Cassellman parties did very well on them. The blues were 1-3 lbs and the bonito 2-4 lbs.
Today the wind kept us out of the ocean. The Tim Jankowski/Bill Blake group spent a couple hours in the bay drifting for fluke. We caught a lot of fish, just couldn't get a keeper. Made a half day of it and came in early.
We will be tuna fishing inshore at the end of the week, there have been good reports, hope we will be reporting good news as well.
