This afternoon, we were lucky enough to see a whale just outside of the inlet as we began our trip. We watched him surface a few times before we headed up the beach for some fluke fishing. We caught a few drifts close to the beach, picking at some short fluke and some sea robins. We then moved off the beach a few miles where we had good action with some sea bass, which were all released. We also caught some more fluke, a mix of keepers and shorts. The pool winner was Guy McClain from Hamilton, NJ.
