Volunteers needed
I’ll be clearing furniture out of my basement at 9 tomorrow morning when Chuck Many comes over with his truck prior to Saturday’s fishing tackle plus household goods and furniture sale at 1552 Osprey Ct., Manasquan Park, NJ 08736. The furniture in the basement is for charity or at no charge for those who can use it..
We will need some help in moving some of what’s in the basement, and the help of anyone living nearby who has a good back and an hour to spare would be appreciated. Call me at 732 757-5531.
There was good news from the Golden Eagle out of Belmar on two fronts. Their first dolphin trip on Monday worked out very well as they limited out despite rougher weather than predicted. As a result, they’ll be running two more such tips by reservation on Sept; 12 and 19.They got back to bluefishing this morning and enjoyed a steady bite on jigs as everyone limited on 11/2- to-8-pound choppers. Some fluke and large porgies were added.
Vinny D’Anton couldn’t raise anything to his Chug Bug in the Monmouth County surf this morning but, but when he switched to Gulp there was steady action with fluke though none made 18 inches.
The Ocean Explorer from Belmar had a great trip of big fluke yesterday as they reported “Some over 10 pounds†That included one which weighed 14 pounds on the boat scale — but wasn’t in the seasonal pool,
The forecast is for south winds at 10-15 knots before going to 15-20 southwest in the afternoon when thunderstorms are possible..
