The NJOA has issued a invitation for all to attend Wednesday's rally against underwater blasting as follows: NJOA: Rally on 7-2-14 at the "Emergency Town Meeting" to stop/delay ocean blasting. Join NJOA  on Wednesday, July 2 at 5 p.m., along with Clean Ocean Action, and NJOA council members New Jersey Beach Buggy Association, Jersey Coast Anglers Association, NJ Council of Divers, and other groups opposed to ocean blasting off the Jersey Shore. In May of this year, NJOA council members began working with legislators, NJ DEP, the Christie Administration, and various stakeholders in marine fisheries, including anglers, divers, and environmental groups to question the timing of seismic blasting, which is to occur during peak period summer months for fisheries. In conjunction with Clean Ocean Action, NJOA council members also directed its efforts to stop Rutgers University from participating in the study related to seismic blasting.
