Sorry for the delay in getting Sunday's blog in as I was watching my son Mike compete in Challenge Atlantic City -- a full Ironman race that took all day.
The nost interesting report came from Scott Leadbeater of Haddon Heights. He fished his Aquasport out of Atlantic Highlands in the back of Raritan Bay where trolling bunker spoons produced lots of the 6-10-pound blues that the party boat fleet hasn't been able to find in the ocean. Leadbeater said they were either spawned-out or males.
Capt. Stan Zagleski had another fine day with big fluke on his Elaine B. from Bahrs in Highlands. Will Yo of Palisades Park had the 7 5/16-pound pool winner.
The Tackle Box in Hazlet weighed a 53 1/2-pound striper boated at hight on an eel off the Rockaways by Rocco Casso of Roselle Park. Keyleigh McGrogan from Union Beach boated an 8 1/2-pound fluke on spearing and squid in Belford Channel.
