During the first year of the World Fishing and Outdoor Sports Expo, 37 years ago, there was such a snowstorm that hardly anyone was able to get there until the last day. I was living in Lake Hiawatha at the time, and barely made it to Rockland Community College Field House in Suffern, N.Y. through the single lane open that Sunday. I never thought Paul Fuller would be back with that show, but he hung in and has never had a storm since. Snow is predicted by late tomorrow, but it looks fine before then.
Capt. Paul Hebert of the Wicked Tuna TV show speaks both today and tomorrow at noon. Among the seminars coming up today there will be one at 1:30 on night striper fishing in The Race by Capt. Greg Dubrule. He'll repeat that at 1:15 tomorrow. Capt. Pete Meyers is on at 2:30 with How to Target and Catch Big Blackfish -- and he'll do that again tomorrow morning at 11:15. Also be sure to stop by Meyers' Run-Off Lures booth to check out his new epoxy plugs plus just about every type of metal lure imaginable.
Shimano's Dave Schunke presents Small Boats for Saltwater Big Game Fishing at 3:30 today. Those interested in largemouth bass will want to see Paul Mueller at 4 p.m. He's back from taking second in last weekend's Bassmaster Classic.
The Expo is open until 7 p.m. today, and from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow for Family Day. Check previous blogs on the show for other details.Â
