Captain's Focus

December 30th, 2011

Captain Lenny reported we fished 10 miles north of our inlet. It started off slow for most of the day until mid-day. We got a report of fish down the beach and we ran there and were able to get a shot of fish and had numerous throwbacks. We picked a couple fish on a few drifts and at the the end of the day we ended up with a dozen keeper stripers and 35-40 throwbacks and a few blues. Sean Litwine from Hunterdon County caught a 61", 175-180 lb bluefin tuna! Our pool winner today was Aden Warner from Philadelphia, PA with a 19 lb striper. Way to go Sean & Aden!

The past few days we have been staying out later because the fish are not biting early. Most of the good striper fishing has been from mid-day to late-day and we are staying out later to catch them.

We are sailing daily for stripers and blues from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. until the mackerel starts. We will begin sailing daily for the mackerel when the water gets colder in the next week or so. We will keep you posted.

WE WOULD LIKE TO WISH EVERYONE A HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YEAR!
