LBI Fishing Report 1/7/2012: First cod trip was not the best, but not the worst. Once again the seas played havoc us. Our first stop was in about 100 feet of water, we picked up short cod, sea bass and doggies. Then we moved further out about 130 feet. Slow pick again. Still seas 4-6 feet sometimes 8 ft.  Moved back to about 12 miles offshore, seas 2-4 ft., but slow pick continued. We wound up with a handful of cod, blackfish and ling.  Pool winner was a nice 15 lb cod. Still room on next weeks trip, hopefully water will cool a little more thru the week, and catching will pick up.
