Captain's Focus

Yesterday's trip was more much more productive catching wise, than Saturday's.  At times there was a decent breeze which spurred a bite.  When the breeze died so did the bite unless you improvised.  Still, we managed close to 40 fish between 2 of us with 4 keepers up to 22 inches.

As I was cleaning our fish at the fishing cleaning station, 2 different dejected fisherman stopped by to see what I was cleaning and wanted to know the details of catching the fish.  Both of them had fished very close to me but had nothing but skates and a couple of shorts.  One asked me "How did you mange to catch them today with no drift?  I only caught skates."

My answer was simple.  Power Drift.

It continues to amaze me that more fluke fisherman are not adopting this into their fishing arsenal.

Often, power drifting can make a large difference in the quantity and quality of your catch.

If you don't do it, you should.
