I guess in hind-sight I should have seen it coming... but Saturday was absolutely dismal fishing for Fluke. Did not get a single bite. Cold, Fog, Mist, Wind made it uncomfortable and the cold Bay water (as low as 55 F.) has the fish turned off. Did a very unusual turn in early...
I expect things to improve quickly from here. The combination of extra high tides caused by moon phases and east wind will ease this week. In a bit of an oddity, the outgoing tide was colder than the incoming tide on Saturday. I suspect there was a lot of residual cold river run-off from recent rains. Once the outgoing water is warmer than the incoming water, the flounder will start to feed.
