Captain's Focus

It is always a sad day to say goodbye to another Fluke season.  Overall, had a great year with many days of over 100 fish catch days and double digit keepers in the box.

Weatherman wave forecasts were dead wrong again yesterday as it was beautiful.    Figured we would at least try to take home some fish, so we dropped some green crabs for Tog and quickly put our 2 allowed in the box.  Played catch and release on those for a while and then moved on to jigging and drifting clam in hopes of finding some variety.  Unfortunately, only a single Porgy and a slew of nice Seabass which were released.

On the way back in about 5 miles out, saw acres of bait busting surface.  Can't imagine the Stripers will be far behind.

However, I am more intent on getting Cod kicked off.  If conditions warrant will probably head out to around 120ft this weekend to take a look.  It is really frustrating trying to wreck fish when 2 of the species  (Tog and Seabass) is so restricted at the moment.
