Captain's Focus

Whew, I am glad it turned out like it did with Hurricane Earl.  It Could have been Much Worse.  I left the boat in the water, so I was holding my breath.  The timing kind of sucks though, just when the Fluke keeping was getting good the tropics ruin it.  Monday (Labor Day), is the official end of the NJ Fluke season.  We will be out giving it one final go for the year before switching over to some heavy wreck fishing.

I have to say, I am really looking forward to the fall wreck go.  The mixed bag on the wrecks is always great, but with the big-time return of Codfish to our waters, it really should be a lot of fun.  Of course we are talking about some great eats.  I believe the fishing will be very good.  Cod have been caught all summer by the boats fishing offshore wrecks and Cod really don't like the summer.  Only a few years ago, it was hard to catch Cod when you would expect to be able to catch them, and now they are being caught in the summer.  Thank You Fishing Gods!
