Captain's Focus

Well fisherman friends, it is finally here. The Official start of the Striper Season begins tomorrow. However, don't expect much, in the way of good catching reports. It is going to be a slow start. The only place I can imagine any Stripers will be caught locally (Barnegat Inlet Area) any time soon is inside the Oyster Creek Generating Station Run-off. The warm water discharge is notorious for holding early season fish. For bait, think worms FIRST.

I would expect that it will be a full month before any consistent bay action begins. Still, with a shortened Winter Flounder "Season" just 3 weeks a way.... time to plan that first trip.
