Well, we can kiss any "Summer" fishing goodbye. We are now into the classic fall pattern. The Striper run has not started yet, but there are many fish to be found. Let's get into specifics. Croakers have arrived en masse. Have no doubt, these are hard-hitting, tough fighting, and good eating pan fish. Anywhere from tight to the surf out to about 35ft. is producing. Also, there are LARGE schools of small Weakfish to be had. Unfortunately, these are mostly around 12 inches are under... but still some fun to bend the rod. No specifics here but I would try in front of the Coast Guard station in 27 ft... Of course, pink finesse will work, as will any other small jig that matches the hatch. Small white bucktails tipped with worm also is particularly effective. Bluefish seem to be everywhere... and nowhere. Meaning, you are likely to catch a few no matter where you go, but there is not a spot inshore that I would say is better than another.
On the bay front, the word of the day is Blowfish. Not really my thing, but the average catch on Saturday was in the 100's...
