Our trip yesterday was once again greeted to stiff NE wind and 3-5 ft. chop on the Ocean. This time however, the fish were not as willing. Boating only a handful of short fluke, a small weakfish, and the usual junkfish. I (semi) kidded with the group that after an entire summer of cold water that now the water was too warm. I had readings as high as 80 F. about a mile off the beach at the "bathing beach". Great for swimming, but I am not so sure about the fluking. My guess is that as soon as this North East fetch ends the water will drop a couple degrees and the fluke bite will be back to torrid like it has been the past few weeks.
