9.11 POUND NEAR-MAT WINS POOL!!! Fished the ocean where we found a nice drift most of the day. Tried two different areas and had good action at both with some very nice sized fish mixed in. Bucktails/spros had an advantage over natural baits today. High hook ended up with four nice keepers. Mark Fichera, Toms River, NJ, had a 6 pound 13 ounce fish as his largest fish of the day. Sal Infante, Freehold, NJ, had a few keepers including a 7 pound 10 ounce fish and Frank Prelich, Lodi, NJ, took the pool with a 9 POUND 11 OUNCE BEAUTY which just missed being our fifth doormat of the season!! Nice fish Frank. Weather looks great for the next few days so take advantage of it!! See you in the morning.
