Captain's Focus

08/03/14 Fished different areas than yesterday looking for bigger fish. Started on the mussel beds first thing this morning but did not find much life. Took a ride to the area that has given up three of our four 10+ pound fish this season and had just a pick until the last couple of drifts. The fish started to bite better and better as the current slowed down until we left to come home. It showed that there are still plenty of nice fish in the area once the conditions got right and we will be back at it tomorrow. Michael Satus, Old Bridge, NJ, tested a "secret" bait late in the day and was very happy with the results. He ended up with fish of 4 pounds 10 ounces, 5 pounds 11 ounces and a 6 pound 14 ounce fish that took the pool. Good weather next several days. See you in the morning.
