ANOTHER 9+ POUND FISH TAKES THE POOL!! We did not have the conditions for a drift where we have been fishing recently so we started the day closer to home on the mussel beds. Bounced around much of the morning picking at shorts with a few nice fish on each drift. Probably could have stayed all day and ended up putting a catch together but we finally got the conditions we wanted mid day and took a ride looking for bigger fish. It was the right choice for EB II veteran "Big" John Porada, Pompton Lakes, NJ, who was celebrating his birthday with us today. John hooked up soon after we stopped and brought a 9 pound 1 ounce BEAUTY into the net. It was his largest fluke ever and well earned! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!!! We ended up with several other very nice fish in the time we were there. Bill Powell, Wyomissing, PA., had a 6 pound 6 ounce fish. Mike Naipawer, Bloomingdale, NJ, had a 5 pound 11 ounce fish and Brett Beach, Red Bank, NJ, had a 6 pound 10 ounce fish as part of his catch.Today's pool fish was our NINETH OF THE SEASON OVER 9 POUNDS!!! With just less than half of the fluke season remaining and this second half being the traditional BIG FISH months, August and Septembeer should prove to be QUITE INTERESTING!!!!!!!! Let's do it again tomorrow. See you in the morning.
