Captain's Focus

Tried an area we have not fished lately first thing this morning but had no drift at all and had to leave. Will have an extra hour of current there in the morning which should help. Bounced around a number of areas in the bay today and found better short action and a few more keepers than yesterday and the guys that worked the spros today had the most action. As has been the case recently most of the keepers were all quality fish up to 5+ pounds. Not great fishing the past week for sure but the guys who are willing to bounce and work their rigs are being rewarded with some very nice fish. A few of the guys each had a couple of nice fish today and some only had shorts. Bob Fratangelo, Jr., Emerson, NJ, caught a 5 pound 4 ounce fish on the first drift this morning which just held up for the pool. Tiny Goldman, Brick, NJ, had a pair of fish that were each JUST shy of 5 pounds. Another nice day to be on the water tomorrow. See you in the morning.
