Captain's Focus

We are out on the fluke grounds this morning looking for a little redemption. The updates will come to you at some point in some form. The signal that I have is very weak which makes for a tough time uploading any info. We are on our first drift and have caught a few fish that have been all keepers. We will see how it goes.

Pregame Show
Today marks our first trip since the weekend, and I am not even going to count that because the wind was hard out of the northeast, basically knocking us out of the box before we even dropped the lines in. Our last good day was a week ago today, and it was one of the best days of the season with over 100 keepers coming over the rail. Today we set our sights on improvement once again. The weather has been lousy in the form of hard winds, however, today the winds have laid down and the angry seas have subsided. We have a great crew of angler on board who are looking to fill their freezers with fluke before the season closes. The lines are already in the water, and few people already have a couple fish in their coolers. Lets hope that this is a good sign for the day.

September Flukemaster Classic Update
With only a week left in the season, Walter Petka is in the lead with a 7 lb 8oz fluke. The pot is currently at $500.00.

I changed things up today and updated the site via Twitter through my phone. I’m on the fence whether or not I like it. I will wait for some feedback before I make any judgement. Now on to the report. We had pretty good fishing for the first half of the trip. John Bottles caught 4 keepers in the first hour of the day, but found the ever elusive 5th keeper was too hard to capture, ending the day one fish short of his limit. Smiley on the other hand, had no problem catching his 5 keepers, nailing a 7 lb 4 oz fluke to finish off his limit in style. Dave Plumacher, Jason Beachum, and Bill Arnold were the other 3 anglers who ended the day one fish short of their limits. Unfortunately, around noon the wind came around out of the west southwest and shut the fishing down. What was shaping up to be another allstar Wednesday, ended up as a good solid day for some, and a struggle for others. The weather looks good the next few day, and we now know for sure that there are still fluke to be caught. Our last day of fluking will be Tuesday, Sept 24th.
