Captain's Focus

June 22-23 – 19 Yellowfin
Capt Mark Debaliso and Capt Deane Lambros with Mate Peter Kane in the cockpit were on their 3rd overnight in a row with the Joe Getz Charter. They went straight to Big-eye fishing but it was to no avail. They trolled till 1030pm and set up for sharking under slick calm conditions. There was no real drift due to lack of wind of current so spin around a lot making sharking difficult that night. As such they put it on the troll at 4am and trolled 16 yellow fins up to 45 pounds. Most of these fish were the small class of fish but they were able to pull a couple of nicer fish out of it. This trip was mostly a morning a bite which was pretty strong fishing up until 930am when the bite slowed up. They picked 3 more yellow fins before having to come home for a turn around. The guys trolled 4 braid maurders off the transom. They also caught on Canyon Runner Squid Bars and Tuna clones with rainbow and purple/black being the hot colors
