Captain's Focus

With the fish dialed in nicely after our trips Sunday to Monday both Canyon Runner boats knew exactly what to do on Monday. Leaving the dock at 2pm after doing a quick turn around the 60’ Ritchie Howell and the 48’ Viking Canyon Runners headed back to the inshore Bluefin grounds first.
Capt. Phil Dulaine, Capt. Jay Richardella and Capt. Kobe Treadwell had a rare open boat canyon trip on the 60’ and it didn’t take long to get everyone a fish. Trolling Canyon Runner Mini-Mamba and Green Machine bars (4 to be exact) and a couple ballyhoo the boys nailed 18 bluefin from 30 pounds up to 70 pounds and put their over and under in the boat. They again had several fish bitten by sharks. They then ran to the Hudson Canyon to shark for the night but had zero action. Up on the troll in the morning they had a couple shots of yellowfin catching 8 with only 2 keepers. They thus ran back inshore and proceeded to continue to beat up on the Bluefin releasing another 20 for a total of 38 bluefin (most 40 pounds) and 8 yellowfin.

Capt. Mark got in on the Bluefin action as well on the 48 Canyon Runner with Capt. Deane Lambros. Again, trolling basically nothing but Canyon Runner spreader bars they hammered the fish quickly nailing 10 fish in a couple hours on Monday. Capt. Mark decided to hang inshore and shark among the Bluefin and what a great decision. They set up at 8pm and by 10pm had 3 makos. By 2am when they were out of bait they had a 4th mako and 18 bluesharks. Not only did they have a ton of action they had quality. 2 of the makos were 180# and 200#. They kept the 180#. They then jogged out to the Hudson and trolled from 5am to 2pm putting 4 yellowfin in the boat in the 25-30 pound class. At 2pm they ran back inshore and finished off with another 10 bluefin.

In total the boys combined had 58 Bluefin/12 Yellowfin/4 Makos of 100#, 100#, 180# and 200#!!!!!

It’s is go time boys and we have a spot open on our 60’ Ritchie next week June 22 -23. I can give you $1000 off the trip as someone lost their deposit which would make the trip only $3,695. Please call me ASAP if you are interested.
