The solid striper fishing continued this week with trips for both boats on Tuesday. The 60 Ritchie Howell with Captain Phil Dulanie on the wheel had the Pete Minoti charter out for the morning trip and second captain Jay Riccardella was in the pit with the hours. They found some bunker early on just outside of Manasquan and filled up the livewell with enough of the day in about an hour of bunker snagging. They then looked down the beach for some fish and started getting bites. Unfortunately not all the bites held tight. They finished the day with over 25 bites but only came tight on a dozen putting 7 in the boat. All the bass were once again nice fish in the 20-35 pound class.

On the 48 on Tuesday the morning trip with Capt. Mark DeBlasio at the helm and the Craig Knaup charter on the boat similar action was seen with out 25 bass taken the boat and 9 coming to the boat with the fish again all in the 20-35 pound class. It was the afternoon trip that saw the best action of the year so far though. The Troy and Tracy Seaton charter had over 40 bites on these large bass which again for the charter proved elusive on the hook up as not nearly as many came to the boat. But that said – they all had a blast on these fish and went home with plenty of meat.

Word of yellowfin in the Washington Canyon and the Block Canyon so things are falling into place nicely.
