Captain's Focus

Both the 60’ Ritchie Howell Canyon Runner and the 48 Canyon Runner have been very busy, every day the weather allows, putting solid striper trips together for our charters. Thursday was the first day out in a while and the bass were found under bunker off of Belmar and the fishing stayed solid right through the weekend.

The 48 Canyon Runner had two trips a day from Thursday through Sunday and catch totals ranged from 6 bass up to 20 on any given trip with the height of the week coming with the Dave Brady charter on Friday nailing a 47.5 Pound Bass on a bunker off of Belmar and the Jim Gleason charter on Saturday limiting out and releasing fish by 10am – again off of Belmar but this time most of the fish we caught trolling Tony Maja Bunker spoons.

Afternoon trips may have been more productive with excellent catches coming in short order with the Rich Teirnay charter on Saturday limiting out in 2 hours.

Monday saw solid fishing with the Rich Alverado charter with 10 bass to their credit.
This are all big bass like we saw last year and almost all of them are coming on bunker. The bites on again and it’s nice to be in on it everyday.

We still have plenty of afternoon trips available so if interested please call 732-272-4445 or email us at adam@canyonrunner.com
