Captain's Focus

We ended this string of trips with a great one. On Wednesday, August 11 the chunking finally started to come together. Capt. Mark left the dock at 6pm and went right to the chunk. They started picking fish after midnight and ended up going 10 for 13 on yellowfin with 7 nice ones and 3 small ones that were released. Up on the troll in the morning they worked all the way back into the tip of the Hudson Canyon and had the bite they were looking for. Kevin McDermott of Pt. Pleasant, NJ has traveled the world looking for his first blue marlin – well he only had to look in his own back yard at 1 hour later a nice 375 pound blue was alongside and released. This was our 7th blue marlin of the young season and ate a ballyhoo on a blue/white Ilander. Congratulations Kevin – I hope the guys threw you in!!
