However, a couple phone calls to Capt. DeBlasio informed us that there was no bite in the Hudson so we headed to the Toms. 20 minutes on the troll in the Toms we had yellowfin exploding on all 4 Canyon Runner Spreader Bars in the water but they only came tight on 1 ballyhoo. That fish was 65 pounds. We turned around and immediately picked another yellowfin. A call to the 48’ and the Bob O’Connell charter pulled in the lines and headed to the Toms. And of course the bite shut off. Stopping short and we no longer were catching Capt. Mark pulled 2 yellowfin out of the Hendrickson around 5pm and then we pulled a couple more singles and a double out of the Toms. We finished off the afternoon troll with 5 nice yellowfin and the 48’ finished off with 4 plus the 2 bluefin caught earlier in the day.
The night bite was non-existant except for a 300+ pound sword that swam right up to the back of the 60’ Ritchie Howell and did not take a bait. The morning bite wasn’t much better as the only fish caught was by the 48’ just before heading home for a turn around trip.
