Captain's Focus

Capt. Mark DeCabia took the 60 Ritchie Howell out on Monday/Tuesday with the John Scheon charter. Capt. Mike Zajac joined with Capt. John Timken. They left the dock at 1pm and hit the 150/050 area at 5pm and got in 4 hours on the troll. They were pulling all big spreader bars looking for another big-eye but nothing transpired. They put out the regular 9" squid bars and ballyhoo and picked 3 yellowfin with one nice one in the 50 pound class before the night set in.

Their drift took them off the bank but all they had to show for it was a small mako released and a brown shark. Up on the troll early in the morning found a very slow yellowfin bite turn on after 8am and they started picking away on double, triples and quadruples. They finished the trip with 25 yellowfin with 4 in the 25-50 pound class.
