Captain's Focus

Capts. Phil Dulanie, Mike Zajac and Mark DeCabia took the Jeff Porello charter offshore on the 60 Ritchie Howell Wedensday to Thursday for an overnighter. They did not have to wait long before putting a catch together. Work first the 100-square and then over to the Southwest corner they picked away at tons and tons of yellowfin.

Trolling from Noon to 8pm saw 45 yellowfin boated. They kept 8 in the 20-45 pound range and released the rest. They ended up fishing in much worse conditions then those forecasted and ended up throwing the hook for the night instead of drifting for sharks. But at 10:30 the updated forecast showed 35-50knots winds in thunderstorms that were coming off the Delmarva Pennisula and headed right for the Hudson Canyon so be pulled the plug on the trip and head home early but still with 45 yellowfin to their credit.
