Captain's Focus

Capt. Mark DeCabia with Capt Mike Zajac and Ryan DiBaggio took the 48 Canyon Runner out on an open boat trip Monday to Tuesday. They got to the edge late so went right to the drift and immediately had sharks in the slick. They picked thru blues, browns and duskys and final got their mako of 110# around 1am. After the mako was in the boat they jogged over to the deep looking for a sword bite. As they were clearing the lines in the morning to start the day troll the deep sword bait got nailed but never came tight - could have been anything that swims 300 feet down.

Up on the troll in the morning they immediately starting picking yellowfin, missed a white marlin and had a big-eye clear the water attacking a Canyon Runner Rainbow Squid bar but it missed the hook and never came back. They picked thru 30 yellowfin on rainbow squid bars and ballyhoo to finish wiht 4 between 25-40 pounds.
