Captain's Focus

Capt. Mark DeCabia had the Tom Sulkowski charter out Friday/Saturday for an overngihter after sitting at the dock for a week with bad weather we got barely a good enough temp shot to lead us on our way. We saw water at the Cartert and water in between the Hudson and Dip. So we flipped a coin and off to the Hudson/Dip area we went. Having heard from DeBlasio on his way offshore he took a pass by the Hudson by the bombs and saw life on the surface so he put out the rods and immediately had fish on putting 7 in the boat but only keeping a few. They trolled down the east wall then around be bend towards the dip and finally found the 60 Canyon Runner working fish at 26060 on the 100 fathom line. They continued to work that area and finally got bites at 6:30pm and 7pm but ended up going 1 gor 6 and 2 for 5 on nice yellowfin during thsoe bites. At night all they saw was a hammer head that was released. Up on the troll in the morning the charter was happy with 8 fish in the deck boxes already so they trolled west and still picked up two more 40-60 pounders before 6am and then went home with 20 yellowfin boated with 10 kept. Almost all the yellowfin ate mini-mamba bars and squid spreader bars.
