Captain's Focus

Capt. Mark DeBlasio took the Scott Draper charter out Monday to Tuesday on the 48 Canyon Runner and after hearing the big boat strike out in the Hudson we decided it was time to move back south so he hit the Toms Canyon. He pulled back the throttles 4 miles short of the tip after seeing some life and within 30 minutes had 8 fish on. 3 were lost, 2 were skippies and 3 were boated from 40-60 pounds. They worked that area for a while then moved into the canyon and up the east wall to the Hendrickson while picking another 2 small fish they released.

They set up for the night bite drifting the Hendrickson and expected to do nothing but at 11am the tuna came thru and they quickly jigged one and went 2 for 5 on bait putting 3 more in the boat. These fish were all small 20-30 pounds. However another boat sitting ont he NE corner of the Toms claimed to go 6 for 6 on the chunk at 4am with all 40-60 pound fish.

Up on the troll in the morning they trolled another 7 yellowfin with 3 more nice ones and released the rest.

I don't have what they caught on yet but will get it shortly.
