Capt. Phil Dulanie and Capt. Mark DeCabia with mate Chris Hempstead had the Rob Horter charter out and opted to go to the Cataret since reports and fishing was slow elsewhere. They put it on the drift early and picked an 80lb yellowfin and a 46 inch sword in the first twenty minutes. With the tide screaming they decided to anchor up right there. Throughout the night they picked away another yellowfin and caught 3 more swords bringing the total to 4 for the night. 3 of the 4 swords were short and released and the 4th and last fish of the evening was a nice fat 69" 150lb fish. This was the first night they used the blue hydroglow exclusively with the lights off to have the most effect in the water and paid off. This is same way we fish for the swords in florida. Although the tuna fishing was slow, the swordfish made up for it. |
