Captain's Focus

Bluefin from belmarWith the forecast calling for 1 to 3 ft or less I put a few NJH members together..  Game plan was to run for Fins.. Start Time 3am and point east!!.. Jrhunt, Smackdown66, Darin and NJBestbirddog settled into the thebeanbags.. I point the Sykk Physh east and let the suzuki's do there thing.. The ride out was smooth, fast and comfortable. Some of the crew crashed out in the bean bags, while myself and Smackdown watched the radar and electonics at 31 knots..

After a little more than a 1hr45mins we arrive to see some Bluefins crashing the surface... Right away the trolling spread went out and minutes we got covered up.... damn bluefish!! We cleared the nightmare of spreader , daisy chains and flatliners quickly.  Picked up and ran another 10 miles further East!  After a few hours of nothing hitting the spreader ..We just got ready to run when the ocean came alive with Dolphins and whales.. Amazing thing to see Dolphins and whales riding the bow waves, running between the hulls .. As Darin said.." National Geographic crap Right There".   Guys around us hooked up but we didn't..So I move back west to some new life and once again Yellow eyed demons..  Back we go to pound on the area guys were picking.. Until it was game time.. Around Noon we had the first fish hooked up..

Jrhunt hooks up but brakes it off.. So looking over the side of the boat.. You could see schools of tuna crusing by the boat.. Again Jrhunt Hooks up fish on the guys are pumped  untils the hooks pull... The Bestbirddog get slammed but drops the bait.. Damn i could see this wasnt are day until Smackdown66 hooks up!! Fish On and the reel is singing away..

Well after 30 minutes of doing boat circles , all the guys we keeping Ryan (Smackdown)encouraged on landing the fish,, We see color and then we stuckem.. Guys were fired up high fiveing and i was pumped up to get the first Tuna of 2011 onboard!!  We get back right into the fish to have a few more run offs to come up short.. So after having the Coast Guard do a safety check we lost the bite!!! But we all agreed  We had a great day on the big lake.. Seeing tuna pass under the boat,, popping tuna and offshore cherries just made us all enjoying the long day!!,,

I could go on about how much fun we had but I'm beat and really looking to going back soon!

So to the Crew today " Wait for the Smoke"
