Yesterday we had a great tuna fishing charter day troll, with Kevin, Rob, Bruce, Ari, John, Jimmy, and Captain Chad from the Sea Soda who lended a hand on the boat throughout the day. we left the barn at 3AM and headed out. Lines in the water by 7 AM with the rest of the fleet. We decided to make our way away from the fleet and fished on our own, and between 11-3 PM we had non stop action on all the longfin tuna the guys wanted. We had doubles, triples, and even five fish on at a time throughout the day. The fish were nailing the spread before it was even fully set and we left them biting for the day around 4. We ended the day with 15 fish, and over 20 knockdowns. Some of these fish were damn big too, overloaded our scale we had on board which maxes out at 50lbs. Damn was NOAA wrong today. Wind never died down and was definitely a bumpy ride in, but the crew made the best of it as we had a great day fishing and tons of meat for all! The ticket yesterday was the sterling tackle 18″ and 36″ spreader bars as the fish were devouring them. We literally watched the same fish slam one bar 5 times in a row before he was hooked. Great day on the water with some great guys!
