Jay, Jim, Pat, Ron, Don, and Chuck were aboard today for an open boat fluke trip. We shoved off and the weather this morning was less than agreeable. We found ourselves starting the day in 15 to 20 knots of south wind and heavy rain. Ironically, this is when the fluke bit the best for us. Once the rain stopped and the wind shifted from stiff south to stiff west, the bite slowed quite a bit. All told, we had a nice catch of 16 keepers including two around 7 pounds and more shorts than I could count. We also threw back a number of large sea bass, too.
