Captain's Focus

Summer maybe winding down but it's not over yet. The offshore tournament season is not finished and what's left is the Canyon Runner Team's personal favorite as it's an overnight tournament - our wheelhouse; and it's fished right out of Manasquan Inlet - our home port.

With a strong big-eye bite in the north and big blue and white marlin in the south, there is no better time to register for an offshore tournament and get your name up on the leader board. With a full moon on the opening day of the tournament we expect the fishing to be out of this world.

Closing out the unofficial end of the summer is the Manasquan River Marlin and Tuna Club 35th Annual Offshore Open running from August 29th through September 6th. The 9-fishing days tournament kicks off with a Captain's meeting at the Crystal Point Yacht Club on August 28th.

With categories for all offshore species and an estimated payout to exceed $175,000, the 35th Annual Offshore Open is a great way to end your summer. Daily weigh-ins will take place at Brielle Yacht Club. The Manasquan River Marlin and Tuna Club is long-time supporter of the Recreational Fishing Alliance
