What can I say... Mixed emotions to report here...  We started hearing A LOT about this hurricane making landfall on the Jersey Coast last Thursday and I made the call Thursday afternoon to have the boat hauled from Clark's... We're lucky, b/c on Friday, they ordered a mandatory evacuation of ALL boats from Clark's Landing due to this hybrid Hurricane/NorEaster making landfall right in our backyards....

With that said, Kenny and myself were able to sneak out w/ our good buddy Shelby on Reel Class just prior to us hauling her for a few days to ride out the storm on Saturday morning.  We ran north where the bass have been, only to find things quiet with lots of readings but just a few bluefish to show for our efforts running all the way to the rocks...  We then retraced our steps back south, and finally found some bass feeding on rainfish off Asbury and got a few on both jigs and storm shads, but then more bluefish took over.  We then hopped around, working readings, and found some great readings where we just picked at bluefish and a bass or two here and there.

On the way home, we found another motherlode of readings just off SRI, and we added another nice bass to the box.  (Pics are in the gallery)

We finished with a load of bluefish, maybe 3 dozen, and 7 bass to 18#.  All bass were keepers, smallest fish we boated was 31".  Great trip, but it was cut short because we had to prepare the boat and the house for the storm and she was finally hauled early this morning (Sunday), and is safely tucked away for a few days until this thing passes.  We hope to be back in ASAP, and will hope to get our trips in NEXT weekend!!!!
