Bass and blue fishing slowed after Friday's blow, but things rebounded a bit by Sunday as some fish were trolled.Â
Our report: Saturday - Slow day with Jean's charter for bass and bluefish. Had just a handful of bluefish but no bass - ran all the way to Raritan Bay... Overall very slow day! Sunday - Had John Kuhles charter on today for a mixed bag.
Left early at first light, made bait south of our inlet, worked the pods, but had no takers. Bunkers looked nervous but NG.
Then ran offshore for cod/Pollock. Bounced around some different pieces till we finally found a few. Nice pick of mixed sized cod and nicer Pollock before the screaming SOUTH current halted our fishing. We also had a couple of 15" seabass that had to go back on the teasers Once the south current kicked in, we didn't have a single bite. All cod and Pollock were caught on ava's and stingo's ahead of twister teasers - no bait
Back inshore we went up on the troll for bass, but didn't have a knockdown. Overall a good day with a few nice Pollock in the box as well as some nice cod - not red hot fishing but had a couple every drift with shorts and keepers before it shut off. Biggest cod was ~15# and biggest Pollock was also ~15# - both taken by John! Â PICS IN GALLERY
