Captain's Focus

Had Dennis's charter today. Due to some engine issues w/ the current Reel Class, and still not possessing the NEW one, we had to fish the charter on another boat, so my neighbor, Capt Dan on the Megan Beth, was able to oblige.

Ran up the line looking for bass, put the trolling gear in - NG. Ran up further, heard of some fish being caught on bait, and got 3 nice fish right away (31#, 25#, ~15#). Also had a couple other run-offs but it quickly crapped out.

So, around 11:30, we headed to the bottom spot. Made 3 drops in the same general area, all w/ good life. Loads of short seabass, some keepers, plus 2 big triggerfish and 2 nice porgies. In 2.5 hours we had around 30 K's plus the triggers and porgies - not too bad!

For the day we had the 3 bass, ~30 keeper seabass, and the 2 triggers and 2 porgies. Real fun crew who fed us well all day, and were a blast to work with. Also, a special thanks goes out to Dan who once again came through for me when Reel Class was out of commission. It's great to have good friends & neighbors! Thanks again guys we'll see you again next year!
