Fishing remains the same as you have to pick through the shorts to land a few keeps. The short bite was slower this morning compared to yesterday, however we saw a few more keepers than yesterday's charter.
Headed back out to where we had very good fishing yesterday, not much current but a nice drift. Big John fishing Starboard side hooked into a monster, as the fish came up it got tangled in a rig that was stuck on the bottom, unfortunately it was braid and as the boat drifted away, the braid cut through Johns line sending it back to the bottom to fight another day.
There wasn t much doing this morning when I walked down to the Bay Head surf, though I did see one Spanish mackerel caught. Riley couldn t get them on Gulp, but the hooked fluke up to a 17-incher on the strips.
