Crazy Alberto Knie and I joined South Jersey native David Rizzo on his boat at Marco, Florida on Tuesday to enjoy a sunny day on the water even though fishing was tough as noted by the shot of Dave and me with a sheepshead and a mangrove snapper. I also had a light tackle fight with a ray, and Alberto hooked a Goliath grouper that immediately broke the 400-pound leader on a bridge column.

I was going to try on Thursday original forecast was for 10-15mNE winds now they raised it to NE 15-20 gusts to 25 and Friday gusts to 30 . Saturday looks good as far as the wind.

We had a limit of yellowfin plus some Longfin on the Thursday Friday trip. The canyon is loaded with yellowfin and good numbers of longfin tuna are also moving in.

The first couple drifts were pretty slow with not much movement then the third drift the current came and all hell broke loose. We had to take a few pics of some big ones that we had to turn loose I would say 50 were to big a couple in the 40 lb class.

FromMy phone as I have a christening to run to after I dock Only one Striper today Again no drift We will be fishing tomorrow it it looks like Tuesday and Wednesday we will be off and maybe Thursday. I have some people coming tomorrow if you want to give it a shot.

Posted on October 24, 2021 Lack of drift hurts as Sea Hunter begins striper trips Capt. Rob Semkewyc started striper fishing Saturday with a charter on his Sea Hunter from Atlantic Highlands that produced a couple of bass despite a lack of drift. The Golden Eagle from Belmar didn t get involved in the striper mob yesterday, but went offshore for good sea bass fishing along with large porgies.
