Fishing Report Thursday 7-11 North Plainfield Fire enjoy a steady pick of shorts with a handful of keepers mixed in. As usual fishing was much better when the conditions where good and the bite slowed in the afternoon when the wind and tide opposed each other.
Friday Fishing Report July 12, 2019 We pounded the hard structure again today and it paid off with quality fluke and some nice sea bass. we had guys catch a limit plus today and those with 1,2,or keeper fluke Bobby Kojac took home the pool with his nice fish about 6lbs.
As noted in last night s blog and illustrated with a photo, Capt. Jim Freda of Shore Catch out of Manasquan Inlet had great bluefin tuna fishing on the mid-range grounds Wednesday when the fish were marking from 30 to 50 feet down and being caught both jigging with St. Croix Mojo spinning rods and trolling with ChatterLure spreader bars as everyone in the Mike Kelly party caught their first tuna among 23 hooked. Jim Hutchinson Sr. reports for the Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association that Capt. Bob Gerkens fished the Mid-Atlantic Blue Marlin Cup on July 4 with his Hot Tuna and Mike Yocco with his MJ s crew in one of the Northern canyons.
Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing July 11 11 July 2019 Capt. Tom The weather forecast kept people away for the afternoon but we made our morning trip. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12 30 and 1 30 to 6pm).
Started catching Big Beautiful Sea Bass and a couple fluke. Finished up the day catching a few short Fluke but the wind and current made the drift too fast, didn't matter as everyone had their fill and a nice bag of fillets for dinner.
