Capt. Dave De Gennaro of Hi Flier from Barnegat reports he ran offshore to the southern canyons on the Fourth of July with Dr. Fred Leahy of Fanwood and his co-Capt Nick De Gennaro. De Gennaro further notes that on Friday he had Wes Jensen from Phoenix, Arizona on board for a mixed bag of spinner sharks, bonito, blues, and Spanish mackerel.
However, it was Joe Massa, of My Three Sons at Morgan Marina who had the best fish reports today both here and overseas. The Sunday trip also worked out well as he jigged a 27-inch, 8-pound fluke over on the NY side as they also added a few other large fluke.
Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing July 9 09 July 2019 Capt. Tom Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the afternoon trip we caught plenty of shorts again but managed to catch a few keeper fluke.
JULY 9. 2019 UPDATE CHARTERED SUNDAY 8 AM TRIP, JULY 14 OPEN BOAT ON 1 30 PM TRIP Not much to say about the fluke fishing other than it is same old, same old We have trips where it looks like it is picking up with nice keepers and action on the shorts, and then we have trips with little to no action and just a couple of keepers.
The Miss Belmar Princess is sailing daily for blues, stripers and sea bass from 7 30 a. m. 2 30 p. m. and every afternoon for fluke sea bass from 4 30 p. m. 8 30 p. m. The Royal Miss Belmar is sailing daily for fluke and sea bass from 7 30 a. m. 12 00 p. m.
Tuesday Fishing Report July 9, 2019 And another very nice day,and fishing while not good was much better than yesterday We fished deeper and had better keeper ratio,less shorts and some ling and sea bass Tomorrow should be even better!!!looking nice!
