Atlantic Highlands bottom fishing October 28 28 October 2018 Capt. Tom Yesterdays storm kept us at the dock but we made our 3 4 day bottom fishing trip today. We are 3 4 day bottom fishing for sea bass, porgies and blackfish everyday leaving at 7 30 am and returning between 2 30 and 3pm.
Sailing daily from 7 30 a. m. 2 30 p. m. for blues, bonito, albies and mahi, and then for stripers as soon as they come in. The Miss Belmar Princess is the largest, fastest and cleanest fishing boat in Belmar.
Our first drift today, we boated a keeper and lost another at the boat and caught a 27 incher. If we didn't have all the dirty water our chances would be good for some bird life to show and fish to jig.
Stuck with the bait the entire afternoon as we had good conditions and wound up with a steady pull of bass, boxing our under limit with fish to 20 , a few shorts and losing a few.
