This morning our open boat group saw great action with the stripers landing over 150 bass on shads and jigs. The majority of the fish were on the small size with only a few bonus fish making the cooler.
We have a special trip sailing on Thanksgiving Day for stripers from 6 30 a. m. 1 00 p. m. With the fishing and weather being so great, we are limiting the boat and reservations are required. With Miss Belmar s 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
All Small fish today with a hand-full of keepers A couple Bonus fish. A couple times we had the gannets crashing the water on Bunkers, I thought we were in but the bait Fish moved way too fast to stay on them with only the smaller fish wanting to chew.
I noted in last night's blog that the hard southwest wind forecast for today might prevent a repeat of yesterday's scattered striper blitzes along the Shore. After the weigh-in list at Grumpy's Tackle in Seaside Park was loaded with big bass yesterday, there were only a few bass today-- and nothing big.
The weather for tomorrow is for gale force winds (gusts to 45) so we will not be fishing. Weather permitting we will be fishing for blackfish everyday leaving at 7 30 and returning between 2 30 and 3pm.
