The Mimi VI from Point Pleasant will be sailing open at 7 a,m, Thursday, Friday and Saturday for bottom fishing. John Mazzeo of South Plainfield started Tuesday at Sandy Hook, and then went to Sea Bright where there were lots of large snappers, though one angler caught a 25-inch fluke that hit a Hex metal when it bounced bottom.

Capt. Chris Di Stefano of Wall took his 98-year-old Uncle Joe and a nephew small boat fluke fishing in Shark River for lots of action with shorts on peanut bunkers but only two keepers. Vinny D'Anton of Wall cast in Shark River this morning with no action, but then worked the surf at Avon where there were no big fish but all the snappers he wanted to hook on small metal lures in schools of rainfish.
Better fishing today than what we've had the past week. The Sea Bass would have made a lot of customers happy today but NOAA says we can't keep them....Highlight of the day was Dave Bardallis landing his Pool Winning beauty fluke at Eight Pounds Nine Ounces!
