Not for the faint of heart fishing as we had an East wind with the last of that tide. Down the Beach had the same results, out East, same results, up to the North same bite no matter where we went or how hard we worked.
Sometimes we would stop and read the stripers very good in with the bunker and on one drifts we had 8-10 fish, other drifts there would 2-3, or none. With Miss Belmar s 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
11 28-UPDATE The last several trips have been slim pickings, with less than comfortable sea conditions and very few keepers and slots, with some action on the shorts. Every trip is a new adventure, lets hope today, Wednesday, is a good one.
After catching a few shorts casting 5-inch Tsunami Shads to birds in the middle of the bay to get things started, we moved over to the N. Y. side and put the live bunkers to good use before running out of them while releasing keeper bass up to almost 20 pounds on the same drift producing steady action with the shads for small bass which certainly dominated our fishing. At Atlantic Highlands, the Sea Hunter reported a very good first drift with a mix of shorts, slots and keepers.
Atlantic Highlands blackfishing November 27 27 November 2017 Capt. Tom I guess the forecast for wind kept most of the people away but we still made our 3 4 day blackfish trip today. We are 3 4 day fishing for blackfish everyday leaving at 7 30 am and returning between 2 30 and 3 pm.
11 27 2017 Today, much to our surprise only Michael Kerline and Yannick Gingreis showed up for the trip so we wore them out with nice bass, kept boat limit of unders, two 27 tag fish and one 45 over. spent a while releasing more unders on spoons and one blue.
